|
Sunday, 13 February 2011 06:51 |
|
On 5 May we will see the first national referendum in Britain for over thirty years. The question in this year’s referendum is a choice between the current ‘First Past the Post’ system and the ‘Alternative Vote’

Nottingham will be hosting a community debate on the AV referendum with speakers from both sides of the campaign putting forward their respective cases.
The details for the Nottingham debate are:
Saturday 26 February at 11am
Nottingham Mechanics Institute
3 North Sherwood Street
Nottingham
NG1 4EZ
The ‘No to AV’ campaign are keen to ensure that as many people from the local community attend.
There are only a limited number of seats available in the venue so it is important that we know how many people from your group will be attending. We have set up an RSVP email address:

County Council Budget - Have Your Say |
|
Thursday, 02 September 2010 08:23 |
Nottinghamshire County Council’s Big Budget Conversation
The Conservative administration at Nottinghamshire County Council needs to make £69 million of savings next year. Costs are going up, demand for services to vulnerable children and adults is going up and the money we receive from Government is going down.
We aim to achieve £17 million of these savings by reducing administration and management costs and finding better ways of using resources. The remaining £52 million involves making difficult choices about services and we need to know your views.
By visiting the Nottinghamshire County Council website you can suggest your own budget for the council using our Budget Simulator. You can take part in the Big Budget Conversation by joining our online discussion forums or visiting special events in libraries throughout the county between 13th and 22nd September. You can even organise your own budget meeting by downloading a free toolkit from our website and letting us know the results.
